Bryant: December 2005 Archives

Hey, everybody.

I had to nuke the old Weblog. The upgrade to Movable Type 3.2, which was seeming like a must since the constant influx of spam messages was making it really hard for me to manage the trickle of legitimate comments on the old blog, somehow munged my database. I don't understand it. I spent many hours trying to fix it, which only made me unhappy. I still have all the old entries and comments archived, but I don't think any of the prose was so deathless as to warrant re-entering it into the new blog. So something fresh and new will sprout here soon. But not tonight. Tonight, I'm going to bed.

In other news, I just saw Brokeback Mountain yesterday and liked it a lot. I get the sense that the cool alt critics are going to savage it, or at least deride it as mediocre and manipulative etc. I don't know how I feel about that, but I know what I like, and I sure liked this movie. More about that at the main site tomorrow night.
